Fire safety glass withstands temperatures of 1000°C for a predetermined period of time, ensuring adequate escape time for building occupants in the event of a fire.
Fire safety glass panes shall be installed in new buildings in accordance with the applicable legislation.
Depending on their behavior and performance, these glasses are divided, to meet the fire safety requirements of all categories: Integrity (Class E): Glass panes shall remain impenetrable to flames, smoke and fumes. No flame is allowed on the secured side of the glass for a certain predetermined time period.
Insulation (class I): Glass panes of this category prevent the temperature rise above 140°C on the insulated side and in no case should the temperature exceed 180°C at any point for a predetermined time period.
Radiation (class W): Glass panes of this category reduce the likelihood of fire spread as a result of radiant heat, either through the glass pane itself or from its unexposed surface to adjacent objects on the insulated side.
